The Tanana River in the town of Nenana. The Tenana River is a tributary to the Nenana River. They join a about a mile from here.

We will follow the Nenana River all the way to Denali Park after they join.

This is the Tenana River, as we cross the 700 ft long Mears Memorial Bridge, named for the founder of the Alaska Railroad.

The bridge was designed by Ralph Modjeski, a noted bridge designer.

President Warren G. Harding drove the ceremonial Golden Spike just north of the Mears Memorial Bridge in July 1923, signifying the completion of the Alaska Railroad.
